The iphone 16 pro, the latest in Apples attempt to make the longest run for same phone being sold over umpteen generations. The design is the same, someone you know probably has one, and the display.... well. Nothing new there, still bad. I keep hoping that Apple with change their strategy and make devices that are safe for the eyes. In doing so alot of other companies would follow suite I am sure. But for now, I guess we will have to wait and hold onto the old phones that work for us. I will also add that after using this device for a week I developed severe migranes and had to stop using it. Your milage may vary, but I would not recommend this device if your sensitive to flickering.

In maybe a little attempt to try to get better at the flickering thing we can at least see the modulation has dropped from over 90% in past designs to 72%. The frequency, as in all flagship devices these days, remains a steady 492hz.

At 75% brightness we can see that the frequency remains unchanged at 492hz, but the modulation slightly increases to 80%. While better than past designs, this still isn't good for the ol eye sockets.

50% and below brightness. Well, might as well give it up. The frequency is still at 492hz for all levels, and the modulation jumps up to over 90%, with the lower settings jumping to almost 100% modulation.
