The Nothing Phone 2 is a pretty cool device. The founder of the brand (who also founded OnePlus devices), created a really unique phone with cool LED "glyphs" on the back which can be modified to do different things as a user sees fit. I found them to be fun at first, but kinda more a gimmick than anything else. Notebookcheck and DXOmark show the PWM of this device to be safe for sensitive people, but again, they only show the PWM rating at one brightness level, and this is not the whole story of this phone.
At 75% brightness, the PWM is actually pretty crappy. It flickers at an incredibly low frequency of 123. The modulation, however is not too bad at 29.23%. For some users this might be safe as the dips between the levels of brightness are not as bad as some. For me personally this device gave me a headache using it at this brightness level. I actually had to put it down and stop using it after a few hours.
Where this phone really shines is between 30% and 50% brightness (see what I did there :) ). Once the device hits 50% brightness the frequency boosts up to 2166hz and the modulation stays at a lower 31.93%. This is safe for the eyes and people who are affected should be alright. In comparison I watched about 2 hours of Netflix at this brightness and had zero issues, whereas when I used this device during the day above this brightness I had headaches within minutes.
As the brighness decreases the modulation increases by quite a bit which is not good. The frequency stays the same around 74.14%, but with the increased modulations this device becomes borderline bad for the eyes. You might be sensitive at this level of brightness. Overall I would say that this device might work for some people. If you keep the device around 30% to 50% brightness it won't impact your eyes much. If you have to turn it lower or turn it higher than this you're more than likely going to have issues. Henceforth I call this one the low-mid rider.
