Sony Xperia 1 VI - backwards?

If you recall, the Sony Xperia 1 V (review here) it was one of the best devices I had used as far as having a lower modulation rate as long as you kept the device over 50% brightness and was the one that was the easiest on my eyes. I was really hoping that the new Sony Xperia 1 VI would continue and improve on that, but instead it looks like they took a step backwards in this phone in relation to the display, not only is it a lower resolution, but the flicker is much much worse.
Sony!! Where did you go wrong!!! At peak brightness, the display not only has a lower frequency, but also has almost 100% modulation. Compared to the Sony Xperia 1 V which was about a 492 frequency with only 20% modulation which is very easy on the eyes. This is a huge step backwards as far as eye sensitivity goes.
The trend continues at 75% brightness. We still see high modulation and lower frequency which equals red eyes and headaches.
To save time, and my eyes, I am going to just put the 50% and 25% here.... no change and it's awful. I was so excited for this phone, and yet I couldn't use it because the display was so bad on my eyes, so I am sticking with my trusty and faithful Xperia 1 V, and hoping for improvement in the Xperia 1 VII.
